Types of Concrete Batch Mixer For Sale

April 7, 2025

Concrete batch mixers are indispensable equipment in construction projects, used to mix raw materials such as cement, sand and water into uniform concrete. According to the mixing principle and structure, common types of concrete mixers include self-falling, drum (also known as friction), single-shaft forced, double-shaft forced, and planetary type.

1. Self-falling concrete mixer

The working principle of the self falling concrete mixer depends on the gravity of the material itself. When the mixing drum rotates, the material is lifted to a certain height and then falls freely, and the mixing is achieved through repeated lifting and falling processes. This type of concrete batch mixer is usually suitable for mixing plastic and semi-dry hard concrete.

2. Drum (friction) concrete mixer

The drum concrete mixer is a variant of the self-falling type. Its mixing drum is designed as a double cone, with high and low blades arranged crosswise inside. When the mixing drum rotates, the blades lift and fall the material, and stir back and forth along the axial direction to achieve a stronger mixing effect. JZC350 concrete mixer is a typical example. It is rotated by a gear ring and has the characteristics of reliable transmission and low noise.

3. Single-shaft forced concrete mixer

The single-shaft forced concrete mixer uses a main shaft installed horizontally in the mixing drum to drive the mixing arm and mixing blades to force the material to mix. This type of concrete mixer is compact and easy to operate, suitable for mixing ordinary concrete and lightweight concrete.

4. Twin-shaft forced concrete mixer

The twin-shaft forced concrete mixer is equipped with two parallel-mounted mixing main shafts, which rotate in opposite directions, so that the material is subjected to more complex mixing actions, thereby improving the mixing efficiency and quality. This kind of concrete mixer is very suitable for mixing dry hard concrete and other high-performance concrete.

5. Planetary concrete mixer

The planetary concrete mixer simulates the trajectory of planetary motion with its unique mixing system. The mixing arm revolves around the central axis of the mixing drum while rotating on its own to ensure that the material is fully dispersed and mixed. This mixer is particularly suitable for applications that require high homogeneity, such as mixing high-performance concrete.

Each type of concrete batch mixer has its specific application scenarios and advantages. Choosing the right type of concrete mixer is crucial to ensuring the quality of concrete. For example, a self-falling concrete mixer is suitable for mixing concrete with good fluidity; a forced concrete mixer is more suitable for handling dry, hard or special concrete; a planetary mixer, due to its excellent mixing performance, is particularly outstanding in situations where high homogeneity is required. Understanding different types of concrete mixers and their working principles can help better meet the specific needs of the construction site. In addition, with the development of technology, various types of concrete mixers are also constantly being optimized and improved to meet more diverse construction requirements.
